Manufactoring Engineer
Middelburg

This is an exciting opportunity to design new automated equipment and processes for a fast-paced, high-throughput LEAN manufacturing facility.
The Middleburg site is responsible for the manufacturing consumables such as chromatographic (GC & LC) columns or filters. Our products are used worldwide to perform analytic testing in several industries such as pharma, drug testing, food and water safety, environmental monitoring, energy, forensics, and others.
In this position, your primary responsibility will be to drive automation projects that expand capacity, improve operational efficiency, data integrity, and regulatory compliance in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Validation, and IT, to ensure the successful execution of automation projects that meet the highest quality standards.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Take ownership of automation projects, with subject matter expertise, of mechanical design and manufacturing process control systems.
- Lead and contribute to automation projects from conception to completion, adhering to project timelines and budgets.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, milestones, deliverables and resource allocation.
- Support validation activities including review and execution of automation Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and Installation and Operational Qualification protocols.
- Lead external and internal resources to meet project goals.
- Ensure that solutions align with client standards and procedures.
- Supervise the maintenance and repair of production equipment to ensure smooth production.
- Uphold a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and adherence to all safety guidelines and protocols.
We are looking for a motivated individual with the following background:
- University Degree (or equivalent by experience) in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electromechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Significant hands-on experience (ideally 4 years +) in mechanical design, leading manufacturing projects, equipment troubleshooting and computer drawings (3D models)
- Knowledge of/experience with CAD Software
- Full proficiency in both English and Dutch
- Knowledge of SCADA would be a strong advantage
- Part Machining Equipment would be a plus
On a personal level, you have an analytical mindset, enjoy problem solving and you show leadership. You also have great interpersonal skills to communicate with different partners at various levels. You are capable of working both autonomously and as part of a team.
