Location: Greer, SC 29651
Industry: automotive plastic parts manufacturing
Status: full-time, direct hire, salaried exempt
Salary range: $90,000-105,000
*full relocation available*
Responsibilities:
· Leads the paint development process achieving expected quality level at committed cost
· Coordinates a cross-functional team (plant, paint setting, laboratory, supplier, customer)
· Ensures that the paint process (product/process) is stable in terms of quality standards for automotive plastic injection molded class "A" surfaced parts
· Follow-up the development and ensure the conformity of specific painting means (jigs, masking station)
· Answers to project requests at the beginning of the project Paint Zoning commitment
· Manages technical relationships with paint raw material suppliers (paint product validation)
· Takes plastic automotive exterior parts to purchasing development chart drafting
· Follows up jig development from CAD design to final acceptance on site (including prototype phase)
· Validates paint range / process / customer specifications (mechanical & aspect)
· Proposes and coordinates specific means realization (jigs, masking)
· Proposes coordinate path programming development
· Plans, organizes, and assists to initial samples realization
· Coordinates the global quality of painted product
· Fills the “plant process information” data
· Proposes continuous improvement project plans to plant management
· Manages / takes part to productivity projects (on plant request)
· Validates proposed solutions (specification & process hardiness)
Requirements:
• Background in automotive Class A waterborne paint applications and plastics manufacturing
• Knowledge of paint processes, robotic wet paint spray application, application issues, and mix room operations
• Ability to see defects, perform root cause analysis, and take corrective action through process parameter modification (temperatures, pressures, speeds, feeds,
