SUMMARY:
This position will plan and execute all aspects of purchasing from pre-bid to close out in support of an approximately $500 million capital investment project.
DUTIES:
• Plans, executes, and follows up across all life phases of the contract ( from pre-bid to closeout)
• Works closely with corporate counsel and senior management and technical teams to develop contracts that minimize project and corporate risk
• Identifies and provides leadership in the evaluation and qualification of vendors for materials and equipment, subcontractors, and professional service providers
• Gathers and maintains market information on cost and availability of materials to surface potential availability problems and implements appropriate contingency plans
• Manages contracts for materials and goods
• Coordinates activities of personnel engaged in buying and/or estimating materials, equipment, contract and professional services
• Maintains records of goods ordered and received and deviations from contractual terms
• Prepares and issues or receives and manages all contract-related formal communications with vendors / suppliers
• Provides recommendations to the Project team to resolve grievances, and claims
• Ensures purchase orders or contractor claims and contracts conform to company policy and contractual terms
• Oversees the development and review of all procurement analytics and reporting (such as financial projections, expediting action plans, delivery schedules and project purchasing reporting)
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, engineering, supply chain management or equivalent degree
• 10 years of experience in the contracts management role on projects larger than $100M
• Effective at negotiation and conflict resolution
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) with general knowledge of database utilization. Oracle experience is a plus
• Certified Purchasing Manager preferred
