Our client is seeking a Sr. Project Buyer to join their growing team in Greensboro, NC.
What You Will be Doing
As the Senior Project Buyer for Electronics, you are ultimately responsible to influence the global Segment Business Plan to achieve the North American QDCF-TSR targets, inclusive of United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) requirements developed with your understanding of market trends in both low and high voltage wire harness and or electromechanical space.
It will be critical to work with your North American Engineering and global Purchasing counterparts to drive current supplier performance to the defined targets, at the same time continuing to challenge our assumptions in these areas by researching market trends, attending trade shows, and engaging potential new suppliers in feasibility discussions.
You will be based out of Greensboro, NC and report to the Head of Electrical & Mechatronics Purchasing North America.
Main areas of responsibility:
- Own the sourcing plan for the assigned segments, including leading supplier qualification activities and contract negotiations
- Drive actions and challenge assumptions both internally and with the sourced supplier(s) to meet QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets for the products being developed
- Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in the project phase in cooperation with your cross-functional project team
- Ensure deliverables from suppliers to fulfill Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities managed by the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)
- Perform daily project purchasing activities related to prototype and initial production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers
- Proactively scout for new partners through research and trade show attendance

- 5+ years of strategic purchasing (contracts, supplier negotiations, supplier sourcing, etc.) and strong project management experience
- High-volume manufacturing experience required
- Expert verbal and written communication skills
- Proven negotiation and analytical skills
- Experience in creating and delivering critical path timelines
- Well-developed business acumen, agile in way of working
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering/Technology, and/or Business Administration, or equivalent working experience
