To build a business case for a Managed Services Program (MSP), you must address your business need, the end goal, and then plan how you are going to reach that point.
- Determine your objectives for example, do you want to achieve cost savings, improve your talent acquisition process, gain better control and visibility over your workforce spend, improve workforce compliance across multiple sites and geographies?
- Support your objectives by conducting a SWOT analysis to demonstrate to stakeholders why change is required. This would include a review of your current strategy and process covering workforce makeup (contingent/staff) and supporting talent acquisition process.
- Ensure you involve the necessary stakeholders who must buy-in to your business case objectives, e.g. C-suite, senior management, procurement, hiring managers, HR, legal, and technology. Get their consensus that action must be taken to improve.
- The final step is to identify and consider your options to achieve the objectives, such as:
- Improve internal process and/or add resources
- Seek to appoint a sole supplier for contingent needs based on their scope and size
- Procurement led supply chain review to achieve greater cost efficiencies, revised terms and conditions to pass performance expectations and liability risk to the supply chain
- Choose an MSP provider as a single supplier outsourced solution
