Petrochemical Complex
Requirement:
Our client, a global energy and chemicals company required a large workforce solution (both direct hire/permanent and contingent & temporary staff) to support the construction of a petrochemical plant in the US.
Challenge:
Our client required a high volume of multi-discipline contingent workers with extensive knowledge and background. They were needed in a short period of time. The complex situated in a remote part of the State presented a challenge as local industry specialists, were not readily available within the short time scale.
Our Solution:
The solution was delivered via a managed services program (MSP). This enabled TRS to work with an extended local and regional alliance of supporting vendors.
Because of our nationwide presence, our offices in the US and vendor alliance network collaborated to source the needed expertise for the project. The result was that the client quickly filled their role needs selecting from a choice of available local and skilled candidates from surrounding States.
The MSP proved an effective means to enable the volume and scope of the requirement to be quickly met.
Our first contingent worker was assigned in 2014 and headcount quickly grew to over 150+. The project is due for completion in 2022.
The workforce scope covered disciplines in Project Controls, Engineering, Construction and Design. The program services included:
- Vendor management and performance
- Payroll management
- Compliance management
- Recruitment campaigns
- Personnel administration (on-boarding – induction – day to day HR management – off-boarding)
Value Add:
Through our client review process, senior client management recognised the value to the project of the MSP which provided an onsite coordinated resource to ensure all positions were filled on an urgent basis and provided for cost efficient management of labor over the duration of need.
