The power of a smile
Firstly, a summary about me: I am from Madrid, I am married, and I have three children. After finishing my degree in sociology I finished my studies completing a Masters in HR. In the last two years of university I had the opportunity to do a scholarship during the summer months in the engineering sector where my father worked (responsible for purchasing) in Intecsa Industrial. I worked in the HR department; this is when I realized that it was the field where I wanted to work.
Once I finished my HR Masters I started working in an ETT called Forsel Grupo Norte. There I spent two years as a consultant performing multiple functions. In the morning I would do cold calling trying to attract new customers and in the afternoons I would do the selection and interviews. It was a time when I learnt much in sales but I knew I wanted to specialize in technical profiles. When I saw an opportunity in 2006 with TRS Staffing Solutions, I did not hesitate to apply and after the interview with John Rowlands, Regional Director, Spain, I started working at TRS within a few days.
I have been with the company for 15 years as a consultant and in the last few years I have become Account Manager for Fluor Plant Engineering. This is a professional challenge, involving total dedication to the client and always being available to solve any problem or management need that arises.
When I decided to work in human resources, one of my motivations was to deal with people, believing that one of the most important points is to have a high sense of empathy with the person you are talking to, whether it is a worker, a candidate, a client.
Our job is not easy as you must be well experienced in solving problems arising in every aspect of the recruitment process. We oversee these and must provide a solution to any issue, but my motto is to always try to keep a smile on your face as it helps you to solve setbacks in a positive way.
I think the added value that I have shown during these 15 years helping me grow both personally and professionally, is the flexibility in adapting to the changes undergone over the years, and the closeness I show both the customer and the client. I always put myself in the position of the customer and client and try to satisfy as much as possible the needs of each one.
I believe that communication, total dedication and that you feel close is the greatest added value that I can bring to my company in the position I occupy.
I try to be a very positive person; I fight against the adversities that are presented to you on a daily basis and I consider myself a good partner trying to encourage and help my colleagues at all times.
I feel proud to belong to the small family that is TRS Spain!
I would like to share my passion for sports, a fundamental part of my life, that helps me successfully combine work and family.
When I was young, I played soccer in a boys team. At 12 years old I started playing basketball with my friends, and in 2014 I started running races, commencing with distances of 7 km, then 10 km. Later came the half marathon, and in 2016 I ran the Madrid Marathon. After achieving this challenge, I started running with a group of people in the Correr en Madrid club, training to run popular races in track and field specializing in the 400m, 800m and relay race.
I also collaborate with my cousin in the Querer Foundation that organizes solidarity races for the education and research of children with rare developmental and cognitive diseases.
My best records so far are 39 minutes 19 seconds for a 10km race, 2minutes 31 seconds for 800 meters (indoor track), and 1 minute 5 seconds over 400 meters.
In 2018, I was lucky enough to participate in the 800m event at the European Masters held in Madrid with Mayte Martínez. Mayte is a Spanish athlete competing in the 800 m. She has reached 4 consecutive finals in the World Championships (she did not take part on 2003 Championships in Paris), being third with an incredible last straight in Osaka (2007).
