Job Opportunities in Belgium’s Renewable Energy Market
Belgium’s renewable energy sector is rapidly evolving, particularly in offshore wind energy in line with the nation's sustainability and transformation plans.
With a current offshore wind capacity of approximately 2.26GW with plans to increase this to 4 GW by 2030, Belgium is positioned as a leader in this field, moving closer towards sustainability.
In this article, we provide some market insights from Christof Dumortier, the Business Development Manager for TRS Staffing Solutions who is based in our Antwerp office.
Market Insights
Christof, can you share some current trends in the Belgian Renewable Energy market that are particularly exciting or impactful?
Christof: On the world stage, Belgium ranks among the top countries.
Offshore and onshore wind together accounted for 18.7% of Belgium's energy mix in 2023, a 25% increase from the previous year.
One of the most exciting trends is the expansion of offshore wind farms.
New projects are significantly contributing to the energy mix. Moreover, government policies are supportive, with subsidies and tax incentives driving growth. The adoption of innovative technology such as floating wind turbines and improved green energy storage is also making our renewable energy infrastructure more efficient and cost-effective.
Job Opportunities in the Green Transition
