Job Title: Assistant Superintendent
Location: Charleston, SC

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Superintendent to support the daily operations of our construction projects. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will assist with coordinating project schedules, managing subcontractors, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This hands-on role requires leadership, attention to detail, and effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning:

• Assist the Superintendent in reviewing the project startup packet, plans, specifications, and submittals before mobilization.

• Identify areas of concern within the project scope, coordination, and constructability details.

2. Scheduling & Communication:

• Support the Superintendent in coordinating and executing the project schedule.

• Ensure subcontractor compliance with the schedule and aid in producing the 3-Week Schedule.

• Maintain effective communication with the project team, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project phase completion.

3. Execution:

• Assist in overseeing daily operations at the construction site, including supervising field personnel, subcontractors, and trades.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the construction process to minimize disruptions to the project timeline.

4. Quality & Safety:

• Monitor and enforce quality control standards to ensure work meets contract specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.

• Assist in enforcing safety protocols and OSHA standards to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.

5. Documentation:

• Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports, site conditions, work logs, and meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Field Management/Construction experience preferred, but not required.

• Strong willingness to learn and a drive to become a Superintendent.

Education:

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.

• Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Knowledge:

• Familiarity with construction processes, scheduling software (e.g., Procore), and blueprint reading is essential.

Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

• OSHA 30-Hour Certification and First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work on a construction site, including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with occasional travel required to project sites.

• Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

• Work environment will vary based on project locations, including both office and construction site settings.
