TRS is seeking a skilled Communications and Security Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. This role involves developing and evaluating telecommunication and security systems for small to medium-sized projects.
Essential Functions:
- Develop telecommunication equipment location block diagrams based on project area classifications and scopes, including analog and digital voice and data, imaging applications, low voltage devices for security systems, and building controls.
- Create, review, and provide feedback on telecommunication system schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure advanced knowledge of integrated telecommunication systems and physical security systems for small to medium-sized projects.
- Represent telecommunication systems accurately on drawings and utilize 2D CAD systems and procedures.
- Apply intermediate knowledge of 3D CAD systems throughout project phases, from Front End Engineering Development (FEED) to detailed design, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Integrated Site Acceptance Testing (ISAT).
Qualifications:
- Accredited two-year degree or global equivalent in a technical field of study, or a combination of education and directly related experience totaling four years.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Necessary job-related technical knowledge.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of relevant local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently and effectively within time constraints.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, as well as the commercial availability and cost of materials.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced understanding of telecommunication system representation on drawings.
- Proficiency in 2D CAD systems and procedures.
- Intermediate proficiency in 3D CAD systems and procedures.
- Experience with project phases from FEED to detailed design, FAT, and ISAT.
