Job Title: WTG and Foundation Safety Engineer
Location: Boston, MA

Exciting opportunity with one of the leading constructors and operators of offshore windfarms internationally. Seeking a Safety Engineer with a strong technical understanding of offshore Wind Turbine Generators and Foundations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver health and safety documents, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to achieve project goals.
  • Manage projects to completion, maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage project documentation aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct workshops and inductions to ensure compliance with US legislation.
  • Perform risk assessments and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Design and oversee safety protocols and procedures.
  • Review manufacturing processes and suggest safety improvements.
  • Define and manage incident reporting requirements.
  • Provide H&SE support through regular meetings and site inspections.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop hazard assessments and review fire protection plans.
  • Implement safety processes using hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Apply standards and best practices for large-scale projects.
  • Conduct product audits at various project stages.
  • Contribute to HS&E, Construction Phase, and Emergency Response Plans.
  • Review safety, rescue, and evacuation plans.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Capture and share lessons learned to improve business practices.
  • Act as a safety leader, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Industrial, or Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of design safety experience in a delivery-oriented environment.
  • Experience in offshore wind farms, marine works, or oil and gas operations.
  • Experience with WTG equipment, foundation fabrication and installation, and cable interfaces.
  • Experience with design hazard assessments and large infrastructure project coordination.
  • Proficiency with database systems and documentation administration.
  • OEUK Medical certificate.
