“Our Hazard Risk Engineering Client is looking for a Chemical Engineer with Major Hazard Installation experience to be based at MAYDON WHARF, DURBAN.”

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the process of converting raw materials into new products in fields such as environmental conservation, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, energy and consumer manufacturing.
• Their duties include designing procedures to isolate different chemical elements and reconfigure them, testing the resulting products and designing equipment setups for optimal safety and efficiency.
• Perform many scientific and technical related to the process of manufacturing products.
• Developing manufacturing processes that minimize waste and increase the quality of finished products.
• Monitoring and testing processes and products found in all phases of production.
• Developing and implementing safety procedures for staff working with hazardous materials.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Accredited a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
• Minimum of 2 - 4 years’ in Major Hazard Installation experience
• ECSA professional registration (a plus)
• Must have knowledge and experience with process control, including the use of HYSYS and other process simulation software and hydraulic simulations, as well as practical experience with Process Hazard review and implementation programs such as HAZOP and MOC.
