We are currently seeking a high caliber Cost Control Specialist II for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Torrance, CA.

They offer a diverse range of management services in both the public agency and private sectors and are experienced in managing a variety of delivery methods, including design-bid-build (traditional), design/build, job order contracting, multiple prime, fast-track, multiple phases, and lease/leaseback.
Job Overview
The hospital replacement program is a $1.7B multi-year program. Our client is one of the three JV partners and is also a controlling entity in the JV. The program consists of various small, medium, and large projects. The current medical center hospital is not compliant with the state mandate seismic code, and therefore a need for replacement new hospital exists. In addition, there will be outpatient, support building, parking structure/surface lots, central utility plant, 12KV/66KV substation and utility corridor projects. The scoping documents are complete and initial demolition/ move management has already started and the major D/B (Design/Build) procurement is underway.
Job Requirements
- Responsible for quality assurance of cost control services.
- Program costs such as budgets, actual, estimate to complete update, revisions, and run regular cash flow and tracking reports utilizing cost module of PMIS (eBuilder).
- Oversee cost control staff at the program, mentor/assist for review monthly actual invoices, processing and coordinate with County Fiscal for processing.
- Process incoming contract request and approval in eBuilder.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc cost tracking reports.
- Take duties of "Project Cost Controls" at times when he/she is off or needs additional support.
Qualifications:
- Cost Control experience with 10+ years of experience
Preferences:
- Previous work experience working as senior cost controller on a hospital or medical project is a plus.
- Very good knowledge of construction cost accounting that includes setting up budgets, commitments, actual cost, remaining cost, potential and approval of change orders and estimate to complete.
- Knowledge of online PMIS such as eBuilder, Procore, Unifier.
- Some oversight of staff is a requirement.
