In this role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for ensuring the regulatory, permitting and environmental compliance strategy is implemented seamlessly for the client’s project. The position will also require the successful individual to support the administration of the project post – Environmental Assessment ad throughout the construction phase.
Job Duties:
• Head the construction monitoring activities during project execution, ie. Pre construction activities
• Collaborates with construction teams to arrange activities in conformity with project permits and environmental management demands
• Responsible for the audit of construction scopes against regulatory requirements, engagements, permit conditions and Environmental Management Requirements
• Check and provide guidance into scopes of work, bid packages, and contractor environmental protection plans and method statements
• Ensure compliance is met and monitored to permit conditions, legal requirements and Environmental Management Requirements through data collection, records management field inspections, focused assessments and audits
Qualifications:
• Degree in environmental science, biology, or related field of study and 8 years applicable experience
• Familiarity of local, provincial and federal environmental regulations
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions outside and an office type setting
• Demonstrated experience implementing a compliance strategy with project permits, and environmental management requirements
• Firm organization abilities, management strengths, and the ability to multi-task while carrying a heavy workload
