TRS is seeking a seasoned Finance Manager to join our client's ranks and contribute to a company that stands tall with pride in its Canadian roots. Situated in the heart of the GTA, their workspace provides a blend of traditional and remote work settings, fostering a hybrid work environment that caters to the evolving needs of the modern professional.

Duties:
  • Oversee the proper setup, maintenance, and closure of jobs 
  • Approve job setups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents, and job closeouts 
  • Conduct month-end reviews, adjustments, cost accruals, and revenue recognition 
  • Establish and maintain Job Rate Table(s)
  • Examine Over/Under Indirects and SG&A accounts 
  • Perform margin and income statement variance analysis 
  • Prepare and review general accounting entries 
  • Coordinate billings through unit rate payment applications, milestone billings, and/or force account submissions 
  • Meet ad hoc and client cost reporting requirements as needed 
  • Support OC Manager, Project Manager, and Controller 
  • Aid in the collection of A/R 
  • Oversee the Payroll data captures and customer billing processes 
  • Maintain the DSO for the area within targets 
  • Help with bids, margins, RFI, RFP, and setting bill rates as needed 
  • Assist with AFE for Capital Purchases 
  • Conduct monthly detailed performance reviews to set critical financial focus for the current month, month-end activities within the area to ensure accurate and timely cutoff and statements 
  • Manage the Finance team for the division including hiring, disciplining, and terminating 
  • Directly supervise a team of Project Accountants, Job Cost Administrators, AR Administrators 
  • Regular tasks include approving overtime or time off, approving and signing expenses, assigning and ensuring work completion and quality 
  • Mentor staff by providing feedback and developing succession plans for the team 
  • Conduct annual and mid-year reviews for employees 
  • Prepare executive reports, operating centers P&L, and Income Statements for all business lines in the area on a monthly basis 
  • Provide cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting 
  • Handle annual budget process for each operating center 
  • Conduct monthly reforecast 
  • Prepare business cases on an ad hoc basis 
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives 
  • Understand and monitor the use of the ERP and others to ensure that they are capturing and reporting the data required for all user groups 
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the ERP as updates and changes to the business environment evolve to ensure the ERP will continue to work in an effective and efficient manner 
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience 
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience 
  • Demonstrated proficiency within a senior level accounting or finance function 
  • Professional Designation is Preferred 
  • College Diploma or University Degree 
  • Demonstrated proficiency within an accounting or finance function within an industrial contracting company 
  • Professional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis, and financial reporting 
  • Understanding of sales agreements and contracts 
  • Advanced skills in Excel 
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills 
  • Capacity to handle change in a fast-paced environment 
  • Outstanding customer service skills 
  • Capability to work independently and in a team 
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt, and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Proficiency with computerized accounting software programs, preferably Sage 300 or CMiC 
  • Supervisory experience including the training and mentoring of others 
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills
