Job Summary:
Responsible for advising the company and organization on how to increase profit through prudent financial practices and monitoring and enforcing compliance with finance-related laws, procedures, and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analysing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
- Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
- Preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Supervise the documentation of the company’s financial status and forecasts.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- Matric (Non-Negotiable) Average 65 % and higher on Maths.
- Preferred Honours Degree holders / bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies or a related field IE: B.Com with Honours and completed articles.
- Qualified as CA (SA) Non-Negotiable.
- Maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns.
- Professional registration with SAICA is Non-Negotiable.
- Minimum 3 years appropriate management experience in a Manufacturing or operations environment (Non-Financial institutions).
- Demonstrates understanding of all facets of business operations and interactions, a sound working knowledge of financial management, numeracy, and attention to detail.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
- Strong understanding and application of SA income tax, VAT, and other tax legislations.
- High level computer literacy (including MS Office / Excel).
