In this role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leaderships and management of the HSSE function across the client’s project. The position will also require the successful individual to manage the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of the company’s HSSE programs and be an integral part of the development of the project sites HSSE strategy.
Job Duties:
• Lead a small corporate team, as well as provide support to the project site and project HSSE teams in the development of all HSSE related programs and systems
• Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure organizational compliance with local, provincial, and federal HSSE laws, and regulations
• Drive safety innovation across multiple locations
• Develop and lead the HSSE Management System for the Company
• Defines corporate HSSE objectives annually and assists site and project teams in setting objectives
Qualifications:
• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or another relevant discipline
• 15+ years of progressive Health & Safety management experience
• 5+ years of proven leadership/managing direct reports experience is required
• BC HSSE experience is preferred
• Experience in setting up HSSE systems, processes, tools and policies in a construction and/or heavy civil type industry
