In this role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for flourishing effective contacts with internal and external stakeholders and supporting the team in permitting processes. The position will also require the successful individual to advance the project through design and constriction into operation post – environmental assessment.
Job Duties:
• Provide technical information in support of the Project’s permitting and regulatory affairs by managing the stakeholder engagement and indigenous relations interface
• Perform as the Regulatory technical domain expert on all related biophysical disciplines (e.g. water, air, wildlife, soils, marine mammals, etc.)
• Engage with stakeholders to articulate technical details as it relates to pertinent Project components and processes
• Create and nurture a robust and technically grounded engagement strategy to support achieving Project schedule milestones
• Handle feedback for all technical data inquiries from Regulators, Stakeholders, and Indigenous groups
Qualifications:
• Degree in social sciences, environmental studies, natural resource management, geography, or related field of study and 10 years of applicable experience
• Previously worked with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulatory agencies within Oil and Gas for permitting processes, land or resource management, and natural resource operations
• Firm ability in working with Indigenous Peoples in Canada, preferably BC and a strong understanding of Indigenous Peoples history, protocols, values and governance
• Strong organization skills, ability to manage, track and record multiple tasks and a heavy workload
• Excellent communications skills – both written, and verbal
