Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, directs, develops and coordinates deployment of Die cast manufacturing processes.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves die casting manufacturing process and methods.
- Product quotations - Reviews product engineering prints and specifications, Analyzes and puts forward an estimate / plan for cycle times, scrap, work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow
- Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Liaises and confers with production planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine equipment specifications.
- Evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts as required
- Responsible for process development and continuous improvement to reduce cycle times, scrap manpower etc.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods (DOEs) to evaluate process efficiency.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, ability to read and understand product prints and specification, AUTOCAD, AIAG Standards is required.
- Working knowledge of DOEs and Solidification models is preferred
- Self-starter initiative / Drive/ Eager to learn
- Must have been working in high volume production environment
- Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
- Ability to work collaboratively with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and other co-workers to leverage their expertise to solve complex problems
- Must be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks within constraints of the position * Must be hands-on and have a personal drive to succeed
- Able to handle conflict resolution and other employee complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to work independently in fast pace deadline orientated environment and to establish strong team relationships
- Required work authorization
- Flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shift long term.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, daily overtime and off shifts as needed
- Exposure to TPM (Total productive Maintenance) and TQM (Total quality management) and continuous improvement environment will be an added advantage.
