This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent full-time depending on performance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up new projects according to contract terms.
- Prepare year-end adjustments and accruals.
- Compile and analyze data for project reports and reconciliations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Provide backup support for accounts receivable and payable functions.
- Handle GST and other regulatory filings.
- Maintain the project module within the accounting software.
- Record monthly and adjust journal entries accurately.
- Recommend and implement process improvements in accounting.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures.
- Preform additional tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- Minimum five years of experience in accounting, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, bookkeeping, taxation, auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with large datasets and detailed financial reporting.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling, pivot tables, macros, and automation.
