Project Accountant

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively to support various office functions.

This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent full-time depending on performance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
 

• Assist in setting up new projects according to contract terms.
• Prepare year-end adjustments and accruals.
• Compile and analyze data for project reports and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Provide backup support for accounts receivable and payable functions.
• Handle GST and other regulatory filings.
• Maintain the project module within the accounting software.
• Record monthly and adjust journal entries accurately.
• Recommend and implement process improvements in accounting.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures.
• Preform additional tasks as required.

Requirements:
 

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience in accounting, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, bookkeeping, taxation, auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with large datasets and detailed financial reporting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling, pivot tables, macros, and automation.
