"TRS has an exciting opportunity for a Project Planner with underground mining project experience and progress management on small, medium, and large-sized projects. Join our international client's team based in Johannesburg South Africa.”
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:- Implement the work breakdown and project coding structures to ensure that data are converted correctly from the original estimate to the project control system
- Analyze variances in cost or schedule performance against the plan, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed plans to Project Management
- Contribute to the proposal efforts for cost or scheduling activities
- Must be able to prepare a Basis of Schedule and Plan of Plan document as per best practices
- Must be able to do proper forecasting and flagging the team of any slippages and variances from the plan
- Must be able to calculate contingency and demonstrate how the calculation was applied in a schedule
- Must be able to do industry benchmarking on how durations have been established in a schedule
- Must be capable of producing Roadmaps, Milestone schedules and Level 1-4 schedules
- Must be able to resource load schedules with effort hours and key quantities and run histograms and S-Curves from Primavera or excel
- Provide functional and management support for all systems and process needed to develop the baseline project execution schedules and routine updating, critical path analysis, workforce planning and forecasting, progress validation, earned value assessment, performance measurement and change management
- Preparation of project base line schedules, resourced loaded and in line with project budgets
Qualification and Skills Requirements:
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study
- Six (6) years of work-related in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) environment
- Combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed
- Must have experience as a Planner for a medium-sized projects
- Significant technical knowledge and practical experience with applicable software systems, such as: Primavera P6, SAP, and related management tools for cost, change, and progress
