This position will performs or supervise Project Control functions related to construction planning and progress measurement , applying all applicable practices related to the function. The function will provide direct supervision to a small team of Planners assigned to the project during the execution phase of the project.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the planning and scheduling services required for a project by screening the schedule requirements in the Invitation to Bid for proposals, or in the Prime Contract for execution
- Schedule development and update - Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 schedules on a project
- Plan the schedule organization in the scheduling tool
- Organize an initial Project Planning and Scheduling kick-off meeting
- Manage the project schedule and maintain the basis of schedule
- Support / interface with the Project leadership team by facilitating the development of the plan, communicating the plan to the task force, monitoring the execution versus the plan, analyzing performance against the plan
- Facilitate, attend and implement Schedule Risk Analysis reviews
- Define planning and scheduling requirements for the sub-contractors to be included in the tendering documents for sub-contractors selection.
- Engage in the project change management process
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Review and evaluate sub-contractors schedules during bidding phase in line with project master schedule.
- Instruct sub-contractors and collect needed input during project execution and update the integrated master schedule.
- Analyze schedule impacts on the plan and make recommendations regarding solutions to problems
- Organize and prioritize a variety of multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Plan and organize own work assignments
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
- Coordinate the set-up of the project progress measurement systems mainly for construction activities , where applicable. Report progress status on the project.
- Review contractual requirements concerning progress measurement and incorporate these in the Progress Measurement Plan
- Develop & maintain the progress baseline curves
- Coordinate the implementation of changes in the Progress Base
- Setup and implement proper coding structure in the schedule to support the needs for different stake holders (e.g. move from construction area view to system view in the commissioning stage, etc.)
Typical Minimum Qualifications – Related Education, Experience & Skills
- Key Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal. Dutch is an advantage
- Mobility within Europe on assignments
- Bachelor or Master degree in technical field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience
- Expert knowledge in Primavera P6 and also Microsoft Project (MSP) is a must.
- Site experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
