SITE SENIOR CONTRACTS SPECIALIST (Contract Full-time) - The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management within the mining and/or oil & gas industries. This role involves overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, from tendering and negotiation to execution and closeout, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies, and mitigating contractual risks.
Employment Status: Independent Contractor
Work Location: BC remote area
Work Schedule: 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including tendering, negotiation, execution, and closeout.
• Develop and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and compliant with company policies.
• Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluate bids, and manage the tendering process.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards.
• Manage claims and disputes, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Monitor and control costs, ensuring projects stay within budget.
• Oversee supplier and vendor relationships, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align contracts with project objectives.
• Manage contract closeout procedures, including final payments, purchase order closures, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Law, Engineering).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management within the mining & metals and oil & gas industries.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and contract management principles.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in contract lifecycle management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to ethical business conduct and confidentiality.
