The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring adherence to quality and technical requirements for assemblies and components sourced within the company supply chain.
Responsibilities:
• Providing technical expertise in quality assurance, quality control, inspection, and requirements on purchased parts for LNG / process equipment for cryogenic gas plants, piping and skidded systems
• Analyzing quality and dimensional data including feedback and corrective action analysis
• Evaluating suppliers, conducting assessments for overall quality systems (ISO 9001/equivalent), capability, work processes and continuous improvement, identification and resolution of non- conformances, corrective and preventive actions
• Providing supplier development training concerning quality improvement, effective quality management systems, and optimizing scorecard performance
• Working with internal cross-functional teams for capture and implementation of best practices
• Participating in internal and customer audits, driving findings to closure in a timely manner
• Review and validate actions on inspection reports
• Review of drawings, P&IDs, data books, welding procedures, material test reports, and supplier testing procedures for compliance to specifications
• Perform P&ID walkdowns, review fabrication and supplier testing practices for inspection release
• Ability and willingness to travel without restrictions domestic and/or international, approx. 55%
Qualifications Needed:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Self-starter with capability to work in a dynamic team environment
• Basic knowledge of Six sigma, Apollo root cause methodology
• In depth knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, and BPVC codes and standards
• Familiarity with NFPA, CSA, and OHSA requirements
• General knowledge of welding practices a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality, field services, or engineering
