As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll apply electrical engineering knowledge and skills for moderately complex manufacturing electrical engineering projects and solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency and service requirements
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations and meet the company quality standards
- Follow and commit to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Manage, prioritize and complete projects or programs of moderate to large size, scope, and duration
- Coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or drafters to include managing and/or assisting with new equipment projects coming into the plant
- Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions, electrical designs and software systems for machine and process controls which have a positive impact on plant performance
- Create and modify designs and requirements for automated production equipment, electrical and hardware schematics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software
- Support equipment debug and installations
- Perform AC and DC power requirement calculations
- Systemize and document new and improved solutions by creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Train production employees on maintenance and operational electrical practices
- Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports
- Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions
- Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience
- Experience designing, developing, implementing and troubleshooting motion control systems, including variable frequency drives and servo control
- Experience designing, developing, implementing and troubleshooting electrical control systems such as PLC, relay logic, and control networks, production equipment automation, and industrial controls networks
- Experience using and programming controls software
- Experience using HMI and Ladder Logic
- Experience with 5S procedures
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
- Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
