This person oversees the release of engineering changes with various departments impacted by changes such as Engineering, Production Planning, Production, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Sales and Aftermarket Sales. The Manager is responsible for supervising a small team, overseeing processes, and training new employees to ensure the timely and accurate maintenance of bill of materials and materials in the business systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
SAP Specific:
- Supervise Master Data Management activities
- Oversee material master data
- Verify proper bill of materials
- Oversee technical product models including product characteristics, product classification, object dependencies and constraints, & verify CPQ compatibility
- Configure & maintain technical dependencies between parts and components
- Coordinate phase-in and phase-out timing for products and materials
- Drive and participate in business process and SAP system improvements
- Analyze existing master data for errors and inconsistencies and perform corrections as needed
- Mentor/train new employees and team
- Key partner in cross-functional collaboration efforts (Engineering, Production, Sales, Finance, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of SAP and familiarity with abstract configuration language.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience in manufacturing with configurable products
- Experience working with internal, international counterparts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical drawing literacy and understanding
- Salesforce experience
- Programming skills
- Bi-lingual
Education:
- Degree or Certification in Engineering / Industrial Engineering or comparable manufacturing experience
