We are currently seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Design Engineer II for a direct hire basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Located in Phoenix, Arizona.

About the Role:
The Design Engineer II performs complex calculations, drawings, and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing or other systems.
Essential Functions:
- Performs more complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection or other systems. Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
- Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
- Manages a single phase of a project.
- Provides guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Review applicable codes and criteria and examine field conditions as required to support design of project.
Four-year degree in Engineering or related field
- 3-4 years of experience
- PE license
- In-depth knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations.
- Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel.
