Cable Installation Engineer (Topsides)

TRS Staffing Solutions have an excellent opportunity for a Cable Engineer working on a major offshore windfarm development project. 

This role is for a UK project, working onsite in Norway, where the offshore converter station is being Fabricated.  
The Cable Engineer is responsible for the planning, and implementation of cable infrastructure for offshore topside projects. This includes overseeing the installation, testing of cable systems for power, communications, and control applications. Ideally experienced of working on offshore platforms, rigs, and vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyse project requirements and design cable routing, equipment placement, and system configurations for topside applications.
Review detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for cable installation and integration with topside systems.
Oversee the installation, and commissioning of cable infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
Perform cable testing and troubleshooting to verify system performance and identify and resolve any issues.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including construction, operations, and maintenance personnel, to ensure the successful implementation and integration of cable systems.
Provide technical guidance and support to cable installation and maintenance teams working in offshore environments.
Monitor the performance of installed cable systems and implement upgrades or modifications as needed to optimize reliability and efficiency.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, records, and reports related to all cable engineering activities.
Stay up-to-date on the latest cable technologies, industry regulations, and best practices for offshore applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, offshore engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in cable engineering, with a focus on offshore topside projects
Extensive knowledge of cable system installation, and testing for offshore environments
Proficiency in using engineering software, project management tools, and cable testing equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with offshore safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices
Experience working in challenging offshore environments and willingness to travel to project sites
Professional certifications in cable engineering, offshore engineering, or related disciplines are preferred
