This role is responsible for managing the financial aspects of the assigned Business Unit (BU) and ensuring its strategic objectives are met. The position will work closely with the BU to understand their strategies and goals, and then develop financial plans that support those goals. Additionally, the Finance Manager will be responsible for making recommendations to improve profitability and increase return on investment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trusted Financial Advisor: Be the primary financial advisor to the BU VP, offering strategic guidance on financial performance, opportunities & risks and investments
- Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop financial plans and forecasts that align with revenue and margin goals, including detailed financial forecasts for the monthly Integrated Decision Making (IDM) process and annual AOP. Analyze key financial data (sales, margins, ROI) to identify areas for improvement and support critical investment decisions. Prepare and present financial reports, performance metrics, and key drivers to senior leadership and other stakeholders
- P&L Management: Assist in managing the P&L, ensuring optimal resource allocation and delivering actionable insights from financial statements and variance analysis (vs. AOP, prior year)
- ROI & Capital Investments: Develop ROI analyses for capital projects, including new product launches, capacity expansions, automation initiatives and other critical investment decisions
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Pricing, Product Line Management, Account Management, Trade, and Sales teams to ensure pricing decisions and promotional programs are financially sound and contribute to P&L performance
- Strategic Projects: Lead cross-functional projects and contribute to strategic initiatives and portfolio optimization/SKU rationalization efforts. Review new business opportunities to ensure they are financially beneficial and consistent with the BU’s strategy
- Market Insights: Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to provide valuable insights and recommendations for business
- Data: Collaborate with Power BI, Accounting, Sales, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistency of data across company

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field of study
- Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred) with a focus on finance, strategy, or business management.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, brand finance, marketing finance, or related role
- Industry-specific experience in CPG or Retail Packaging industry preferred
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with data visualization tools like Power BI for generating and interpreting financial reports
- Demonstrated ability to work as a strategic partner to senior leadership, influencing decisions and driving financial performance
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and building relationships with stakeholders across the organization
- Ability to work closely with Sales, Pricing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Product Teams to drive financial success and optimize processes
- Effective communication skills to translate complex financial information into understandable and actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
- Project management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects
- Problem-solving mindset: Ability to assess complex business challenges and develop actionable solutions.
- Ability to be a proactive leader with a strong bias for action
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Up to 5% domestic travel
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
