General Superintendent - Common / Secondary Buildings

The General Superintendent (Common / Secondary Buildings) will oversee the construction of common and secondary buildings at a steel factory construction project in Boden, Sweden. Working on behalf of the main EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor, the General Superintendent will ensure that all construction activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Oversee and manage all construction activities related to common and secondary buildings, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to determine project needs and ensure smooth execution of construction tasks.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets the required standards and specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that the construction site complies with all health and safety regulations.
• Resource Management: Manage the procurement and allocation of materials, equipment, and labor for construction activities.
• Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring that construction activities are completed within the allocated budget.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any issues or delays and proposing solutions.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues or emergencies related to construction activities.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information).

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory role on construction projects, preferably in the industrial sector.
• Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in project management software.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction safety and project management are preferred.
• Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
