The Lead Workface Planning is a critical role responsible for overseeing construction planning, execution sequencing, and work packaging coordination at a construction site. This position establishes standards and processes for Workface Planning (WFP) and Installation Work Packages (IWPs) while ensuring adherence to WFP audit protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Construction Planning and Sequencing:

    • Oversee construction planning activities, ensuring efficient sequencing of work tasks.
    • Coordinate with project teams to optimize construction schedules and resource allocation.
  2. Workface Planning (WFP) Standards:

    • Establish and maintain WFP standards and best practices.
    • Develop guidelines for creating effective Installation Work Packages (IWPs).
  3. Constraint Management:

    • Identify and address constraints that impact construction progress.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate constraints and maintain project timelines.
  4. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of staff to achieve high performance.
    • Guide and supervise junior staff, acting as a point of referral for analysis and queries.
  5. Resource Mobilization:

    • Contribute to resource mobilization efforts in support of project implementation.
    • Support the roll-out of relevant action plans, such as the SABER action plan.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in construction planning, workface planning, and project coordination.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Familiarity with WFP audit protocols and best practices.
