FUNCTION: FIELD MATERIALS MANAGER

“TRS is looking for a Field Materials Manager for the Shin-Etsu project in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.”
SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES:
• The Field Materials Management (and Warehouse) organization is led by a Field Materials Manager (FMM), and reports to the Construction Manager. The FMM also interfaces with the home office Material Management organization (Engineering Material Control, Procurement and Expediting). All Site Warehousing personnel report to the FMM.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
• Developing plans and procedures for Site Materials Management.
• Setup of warehouse office; warehouse(s) & lay down area(s).
• Basic requirements for staffing; office; warehouse and security of the lay down area.
• Manpower Planning.
• Recruiting and directing Materials Management personnel.
• Training personnel and monitoring their performance and progress.
• Communicating with Owner Warehouse Managers, Construction Manager, Event manager and Project Procurement Manager and other departments in order to meet construction schedules.
• Storage and location plan.
• Receipt and inspection of materials.
• Incoming material QC Check.
• Material handling.
• Document handling.
• Certificate handling (CITS).
• Processing Over, Short and Damaged (OS&D) shipments.
• General housekeeping and storage area.
• Off-Site shipments.
• Issue of materials to Construction Contractors.
• Inventory Control.
• Overseeing the planned maintenance and preservation of material, machinery and equipment.
• Coordination of material availability and surplus minimization.
• Ensuring compliance with Code of Business Conduct policies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably technical degree); law degree is a plus:
• Skilled negotiator.
• Teamwork, good communication skills.
• Customer focused, commercial skills.
