Mechanical Building Services Designer

TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Mechanical Building Services Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.

Responsibilities:
 

• Review and verify drawings and vendor documentation for compliance with project requirements, resolving any discrepancies.
• Conduct bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
• Prepare advanced 2D CAD drawings.
• Develop and perform 3D layouts for intricate projects.
• Adhere to industry codes, standards, and departmental procedures.
• Apply project-specific drawing standards to both design drawings and 3D layouts.
• Utilize 3D review platforms (e.g., Smart Plant 3D) to create and review models of varying complexity.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:
 

• Minimum two-year technical degree or equivalent, or six years of related education and experience.
• Practical field experience.
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Experience in industrial ventilation, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
• Intermediate proficiency in computer and software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
• Effective communication skills with various stakeholders, including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Experience with dust collection systems is preferred.
