Operating Engineer

In this role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and operating the processes of a steam plant in the most efficient and safest way possible. This position will also require the candidate to follow and adhere to all health and safety regulations that apply to the job.

Job Duties:
• Makes Health and safety a priority, and communicates the importance to the rest of the team.
• Understands the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000 Ontario regulation 219/01 and ensures that staff follows and complies with the regulations.
• Involved in the turnaround process with major equipment outage planning, scoping, and support activities.
• Provides technical support on small and large projects including proposal preparation, scheduling, project cost estimates, and subcontractor selection and procurement.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in Chemical Processing;
• Must be a certified 2nd Class Operating Engineer.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering would be an asset.
• Managerial and plant experience would be an asset
• Experience working on a capital project’s conception and implementation would be very useful.
