About the job:
- Scope project candidates
- Define the business problem
- Identify the business benefits
- Identify broad solution options
- Prepare order of magnitude cost/time estimate
- Raise Project Initiation Requests and obtain approval
- Capture solution requirements from across the business (safety, environment, maintenance, operations, harbour master, strategy, etc)
- Prepare Business Requirements and/or Basis of Design document
- Prepare Scope of Work for design consultancy, matched to the procurement plan (e.g. Design/Bid/Build, Design & Construct, Early Contractor Involvement)
- Monitor/support consultants performing conceptual/preliminary design
- Respond to requests for information
- Review studies/options analysis
- Administer design reviews covering:
- Safety in Design
- Maintainability
- Constructability
- Operability
- Review Life Cycle Cost estimates
- Review project schedules
- Administer option selection
The project candidates span a range of disciplines civil/marine, electrical, and mechanical.
Consultants are expected to have the following background:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Experience in early stage project engineering
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
