Our client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer (contractor) to support the development of their CAPEX project within the Energy Transition (based on own technology).

In this role, you will ensure the timely compliance of the project development to scope, specifications, procedures, project schedule and budget. Supporting the Project Manager, you will coordinate all phases of project development from feasibility through to start-up.   
 
This position is part of the Project Management team and will require travel to support project development at site (NL).

Responsibilities: 
•    Support Project Manager activities, and (if necessary) take lead on sub-projects.
•    Coordinate the engineering and field work disciplines on the project.
•    Direct others related to staffing, planning and controlling projects in support of the Project Manager 
•    Map out and control the project execution cycle, particularly FEL gate processes.
•    Ensure milestones are being met and deliverables are issued in a timely manner and as per schedule.
•    Help develop Project Execution Plans
•    Lead Permitting and support Finance tasks 
•    Commitment to the HSE goals and lead by example
•    Supervise and control external FEED and EPC Contractors
•    Coordinate external stakeholders such as Utility and Permit providers
•    Drive project execution and coach team on application of work process.
•    Provide overall planning and organization during project development.
•    Develop project staffing plans.
•    Develop project Contracting strategy and plans.
•    Analyze project risks and develop mitigation plans.
•    Monitor and update the project schedule, estimates, project cost and manage change to established scope and baselines.
•    Identify and take corrective action (with appropriate approval) to ensure the project goals for cycle-time, cost, and quality are met.
•    Interface regularly with, and support, the Commercial and Operations Team to ensure consistent project development.

Requested:
You need experience in coordinating small to medium scale projects in the chemical/petrochemical or waste-handling markets. Front End Loading knowledge, FEED and EPC/EPCm experience are desirable. Candidates who show superior leadership skills in a fast-growing Owner’s environment are required.  

•    BSc or MSc degree in an Engineering field or equivalent
•    Excellent organizational and work coordination skills.
•    Strong interpersonal skills are critical.
•    Experience of procurement and contracting an advantage
•    Working knowledge of project control systems and estimating
•    Construction and Commissioning experience an advantage
•    Strong communication skills in English and preferable also Dutch
•    Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
•    Work / residency permit for the Netherlands
•    Chemicals / Petrochemicals or Waste-handling experience
