WATER OPERATOR (CONTRACT FULL-TIME) - Candidates should be open to working or relocating within the Elk Valley Region, British Columbia. Successful candidates ensure safety and environmental compliance while managing and monitoring mine water treatment facilities, including conducting tests and supporting sample collection. Perform operational activities and process adjustments to meet performance objectives and reporting requirements.
Employment Status: Independent Contractor
Site Location: Elk Valley Region
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Working Hours: 12 hour shift per day (days and nights)
Accommodation: None
Monthly subsidy allowance: Provided at cost
Requirements:
- Water or Wastewater Treatment Program, Diploma in Sciences, Environmental Technology, or an equivalent combination of training and water treatment experience.
- Water Treatment Certification: LEVEL 4 Water or Wastewater Treatment or Water Distribution certificate
- At least 5 years work experience in monitoring and control of water treatment facility.
- A solid understanding of process equipment mechanics.
- Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, and membrane filtration.
- Ability to safely handle chemicals and operate equipment for transporting them.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Excel.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
- Strong team player who is eager to learn.
- Excellent communication abilities are essential.
