Job Title: SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR
Industry: Plastics/Injection Molding
JOB DETAILS
Overall responsibility for the sourcing goals of the manufacturing facility
Manage buyers, warehouse, and shipping personnel to meet stated goals and objectives
Oversee the Sales and Operations process to ensure appropriate forecasting of material purchases
Direct Supply Chain resources working with suppliers and engineering during new product development stage
Establish and maintain vendor management programs
Forecast and maintain supply of subassemblies and components for additional facility
Responsible for negotiations for best cost service guarantee and develop strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning
Implement supplier agreements/contracts when beneficial by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
Analyze industry trends and technology to identify supply base issues and opportunities
Minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging market options
Develop, establish, and provide reporting systems including open requisition, late delivery, and similar management reports
Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes
Calculate and monitor optimal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying cost and premium transportation charges
Responsible for managing the operation of the warehouse and shipping personnel
Determines/administers policies and procedures relating to shipping/receiving and storage of equipment, supplies, and materials
Manage and/or establish processes for inventory management (i.e., cycle counting) and supervise the physical inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or similar degree
10+ years of experience in managing Supply Chain processes/departments with direct reports
10+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly processes, inventory control, MRP Systems implementation and distribution.
APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP)
Manage projects and establish clear goals to ensure delivery is on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria
Knowledge of the legal terminology related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts
