Location: Austin, TX
Industry: automotive, manufacturing
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, salaried
Pay: $120-140k base plus up to 10% bonus (discretionary, based on performance)

Objectives:
Lead, sets up and controls the Safety, Health, Energy, and Environmental Management Systems, contributing to the consistent reduction in the frequency of workplace accidents and incidents, & Environmental incidents, Will monitor compliance with internal standards and the applicable legal EHS regulatory framework. Through the analysis of the corresponding data and statistics in EHS, it will generate corrective and preventive actions of the various findings that arise during daily basis operations, non-routine and extraordinary situations.
Responsibilities:
Lead, set up, and control the Safety, Health, Energy, and Environmental Management Systems, contributing to the consistent reduction in the frequency of workplace accidents and incidents, & Environmental incidents
Ensure compliance, maintenance and implementation of safety, health and environmental programs, ensuring that the company complies with all its regulatory obligations at the federal, state, and local standards levels
Develop and maintain an EHS culture through monitoring and maintenance of KPIs: LTA, NLTA, Near Misses, Unsafe acts/conditions, TSV, Ergonomics, EHS Training Hours, Environmental metrics, etc.
Report on the performance to the Top Management
Develop an action plan for each risk identified or reported through the EHS KPIs
Act as EHS Management Representative for all Federal, State and local regulatory entities, including those voluntary programs with agencies
Develop Implement maintain and improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OSH) in accordance with current regulations (ISO 45001)
Ensure the regulatory compliance associated with waste management (Hazardous, Special & Common Waste), wastewater discharge, air quality, spill control and any environmental requirement applicable to the Plant
Ownership of the Environmental & Energy Management Systems (ISO14001 & 50001) and accountable for the environmental and energy objectives
Participate in the design and planning of environmental, health and safety training programs to ensure compliance with all government and corporate requirements, and provide EHS specific training
Identifies training needs associated with EHS
Advise and actively participate in ergonomic and safety evaluations of machinery and equipment, to ensure risk mitigation in existing processes and launches, as well as comply with applicable regulatory requirements in terms of safety, health and environmental protection
Has the responsibility and authority to ensure that the QMS is in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, as well as customer requirements
Comply with the tasks related to the position (among others, carry out and contribute to activities to improve the (general) work environment
In addition, taking into account the necessary industrial safety, health and environmental protection activities that affect the field of work)
Planning, development, and execution of an annual EHS operating budget that ensures needs are met within anticipated limits
Qualifications
Must have Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Protection, Business Administration or equivalent
7+ Years of experience managing EHS functions in similar automotive manufacturing work environments
Mastery of Federal, State and local Regulations on EHS
Full competence in ISO45001,14001 & 50001 Systems
Strong knowledge in Sustainability Management
Knowledge of EHS Software (Enablon, Cority, and/or Velocity)
Effective communication and presentation skills
