Machine Operator - Baler

$19.31/hour - hiring Immediately in Spartanburg!!


Position – Machine Operator
Work Schedule – Rotating 12-hr shifts and some overtime required

4 days on (7a-7p)
4 days off
4 cycles
switch and repeat (7p-7a)

Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills
• Must have at least 1 year of industrial experience
• Must have a good work history; a proven job performance history
• Possess solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Possess good planning and organizational skills
• Must have good communication skills both verbal and written
• Previous forklift experience
• Self-motivated and have ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Capable of reading and following instructions to produce a quality product and work safely
• Adequate physical dexterity to operate hand tools such as scissors, utility knives, wrenches and spatulas
• Ability to handle hand held aspirator and operate hoist
• Ability to perform mathematical equations
• Possess good computer skills

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate Baler Machine that compacts synthetic polyester into 700lb bales
• Check for quality problems
• Dress and doff bales
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and to carry out assigned housekeeping duties
• Assist with startups of new creels and new merges
• Troubleshoot problems with plastic straps & balers

Preferred Requirements
• Previous Baler experience (not necessary)
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, maintain, and perform routine maintenance on machinery

Physical Requirements
Ability to satisfy all the physical requirements and working conditions for this position with or without reasonable accommodations for this position.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.
• Frequently bending, squatting, and kneeling including standing and walking on hard surfaces concrete, steel, and wood.
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 75 lbs.
• Ability to handle packs (60 lbs.) using both hands to lift over waist high.
• Frequently required to work in high temperature conditions.
• Willing and able to work in close quarters.
• Willing and able to wear and use the prescribed personal protective equipment including hot coat & leggings & face shield.
