Material Handler

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is accountable for safely and efficiently life and palletize parts. Operating forklifts to shift and stack bales, cartons, containers, crates, and pallets of goods/products both indoors and outdoors.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manually lifts and palletizes parts.
• Keeps heat codes separated.
• Visually inspects parts produced by the Forge Shop, separating all questionable material for review by the Quality Assurance department.
• Operates and maintains packaging equipment.
• Perform minor rework, de-burring etc., when directed.
• Ensures goods are stored in the correct area so they may be located easily when making up orders.
• Ensures a safe and clean operation.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Supports and/or participates in the organization’s continuous Improvement Program – Quality and ISO 9000 (QS as appropriate).
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Basic mechanical understanding
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and mobility
• Must have basic mechanical skills and understanding of use of basic tools and functions
• Must be able to work overtime as needed

Education and/or Experience
• HS Diploma preferred, but not required
• 1+ years in manufacturing environment a plus

1st shift: 5am – 5pm
