The role will see you support the Offshore Wind business you will manage the interface in the execution of Procurement and Commercial services.
You will engage regularly with the Procurement Operations, Legal and Standards & Assurance teams to ensure the wider function provides a co-ordinated, effective and efficient service to the business.
Role
- Work with Procurement Operations to ensure the best approach is taken in sourcing goods, works or services.
- Liaise with peers to review best practice, lessons learned etc.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.
- Support the Procurement and Commercial Manager(s) in providing a world class procurement and commercial service to internal customers including but not limited to:
- Estimating
- Sourcing management/support
- Category management as required
- Cost and budget management
- Payment & expenditure management
- Contract development and administration
- Identify supply chain cost reduction opportunities and improvements in the Procurement and Commercial process.
- Provide commercial support to Procurement & Commercial Managers in the development and execution of sourcing events as required to support projects including the review of sourcing strategies, providing cost estimates, preparing bills of quantities, analysing submissions, supporting tender interviews and review of contract award recommendations.
- Conduct sourcing events (when required) to procure at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value. This includes covering all commercial, business, and legal project risks in contracts and negotiating terms and conditions within own area of responsibility to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.
- Compile, negotiate and award Call Off Contracts in accordance with terms and provisions of Agreements. Managing the interface with suppliers/contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure value for money and appropriate commercial controls are embedded in all contracts.
- Support the development of bids where appropriate.
Business Knowledge
- Experience in complex, large scale multi-disciplinary bank financed Joint Venture projects.
- Understand the financial aspects and implications of operational requirements and complex capital projects.
- Fully understand the commercial impact of decisions and implications on procurement process.
- Thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of the processes relating to procurement strategy.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of complex contract structure and documentation.
- Claims preparation and management experience.
- Experience of supplier development techniques and managing the development of supplier relationships.
Essential Functional / Technical Skills
- 3rd level qualification in business, engineering or construction preferred.
- 5+ years of experience working in utility / energy / engineering industry.
- Ability to manage complex projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in deal origination and price negotiation.
- Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with key client and supplier stakeholders that have resulted in high customer satisfaction.
- Highly developed Procurement skills with detailed knowledge of processes / procedures in supporting tender events for large scale projects.
- High level of competence in drafting and interpreting commercial contracts.
- Extensive experience in delivering procurement and commercial services.
- Commercial and numerical acumen with an ability to interpret numerical data.
- Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts.
- Highly developed drafting and writing skills.
- IT skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Oracle Purchasing Systems.
