About the role:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager the primary purpose of this role is to manage the allocation of contracts from Pre-Award to Post-Award. It will provide a high level of contracts support to the business by effectively tendering, negotiating, awarding and administering assigned contracts and agreements on project.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Execute the competent performance of expressions of interest, tender evaluations and due diligence through to contract formation,
- Attending pre and post bid meetings.
- Terms and conditions negotiation.
- Quality assurance reporting and compliance monitoring.
- Preparation and compilation for commercial reports on the status of procurement and contracts including cost commitments, progress payments, variations, claims and correspondence.
- Management of contracts for a live major project in accordance with contractual and procedural requirements, legal requirements, codes and standards.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in contracts management, administration and cost control for major mining, commercial or infrastructure construction projects.
- Experience working with tier one or two contractors.
- Degree in relevant field such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance or Law.
- An understanding of contract law and general law.
- Ability to review and fairly evaluate bids and tender packages.
- Ability to carry out like-for-like price reviews and adjustments according to rise and fall mechanisms.
- Strong skills with regards to the compiling and conforming of contracts and tender documents, including understanding various methods of measurement.
- Negotiation skills in relation to contractors, consultants and suppliers.
- Compilation and drafting of formal communication and correspondence to vendors in relation to project contracts administration.
- Experience in medium value and complexity contract development and management, ideally with exposure to the resource industry or similar.
- Ability to engage, develop relationships and drive favorable outcomes with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, sound business acumen, advanced documentation skills with high attention to detail.
