The role will see you monitor Supplier’s progress of fabrication activities against the overall programme and identifying areas of concern at Site level.
You will Provide advice on fabrication solutions / risk levels and commercial agreements to the Company, to ensure that cost effective fabrication solutions are identified and fully evaluated.
The Role
- Manage the fabrication delivery to commissioning and/or O&M by helping to organize the corresponding inspections and review and acceptance of the relevant dossiers
- All the activities related to the Contract shall be focused on ensuring the delivery of Works within time, to budget and quality following industry best practice and observing the maximum respect for H&S to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
- For any site modifications which result in a design change, the Consultant shall ensure all relevant information are recorded and communicated to the Company. All justification for design modifications shall be traceable and cross referenced in the Company’s DMS as well as all communications with the Supplier.
- Assist Company with the technical analysis of variations orders and/or claims received from the Supplier.
- Assist Company with the review, acceptance and implementation of procedures and protocols, including but not limited to those related to FAT, HAT, OAT and Reliability Tests.
- Review Supplier workshop plans, drawings and system designs (LV / MV / Mech / FiFi / HVAC Systems, FIE’s interfaces ...) to ensure CR’s are properly implemented.
- The Consultant shall notify of any inconsistency, conflicting and / or incorrect statement within the Company documentation.
- Carry out the Site inspections with OFCS Supplier at the arrival of FIE provided by Company, filling in the corresponding ToC forms and monitoring fulfilment of maintenance works.
- Attend H&S, planning and progress, fabrication, and quality related meetings with the fabrication Supplier, including reviewing and adding comments to the corresponding minutes of meeting when required.
- Attend the Site milestone final inspections to ensure that all the related assembly and overall requirements are met; FIE supervisors’ instructions, special requirements and other relevant details.
- Conduct and support H&S related inspections and walkthroughs as required during the fabrication activities and load out operations and promote the highest H&S standards in line with Company requirements.
- Review of as-built drawings, milestone dossiers and fabrication completion books
- Ensure on-site coordination with the port authority, MWS and OFCS supply during loadouts. Surveillance of load out activities, transfer of custody on Site and sail away.
- Qualified to Meng or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture
- More than 5 years’ experience at the required level for this type of fabrication of Offshore subsea structures, welding techniques, NDT, Site Inspections and Supervision
- Proven experience in international norms, ISO 3834, EN1090, ISO 14732, DNV-OS-C401
- Professional standard of written and spoken English preferable knowledge of local language
- NEBOSH Health and Safety qualifications or equivalent
- Worked for Client or Contractor on offshore fabrication projects. Ideally experienced in offshore wind.
- Extensive experience and good understanding of the manufacture and testing of mechanical equipment
- Significant practical experience working in a similar role.
- IT literate in Microsoft Office
- Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of project planning and scheduling, progress management and completion
- Able to review manufacturing records and manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication standards ISO, EN, DNV and other industry norms
- Able to work with minimal supervision and act as Team Lead to deployed Inspectors
