Instrument Engineer (Safety Systems)

TRS Middle East is recruiting for an Instrument Engineer specialized in Safety Systems for a leading Refinery Operator in the region.

This is for their multi-billion dollar project directly reporting in to Senior Process Control Engineer.

Job Purpose:
Perform technical review and assurance over EPC Contractor deliverables related to Safety Systems (ESD and Fire & Gas) of project units and associated facilities, from detailed engineering to commissioning and start-up. These include review of Safety Systems related documents and ensure compliance with IEC61511, review of Cause & Effect drawings, SIL Determination and Verification Reports and Safety Requirement Specifications developed by the EPC Contractor/ESD System vendor. Consult and coordinate with the Senior Instrumentation Engineer, PCE Lead and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within Project and the Company's Base Business.

Qualifications
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering
• Registered or Chartered Professional Engineer is desirable.
• Shall be a certified Functional Safety Professional/Engineer (CFSP/CFSE)
Experience
• 8-10 years of relevant work experience in refinery/petrochemical projects with least 5 years in design and detailed engineering, of Safety Systems (ESD and Fire & Gas)
• Hands-on/field experience in EPC activities related to field instrumentation, ESD and Fire & Gas Detection Systems during pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• PMC/Owner project experience is beneficial.
• Experience with Yokogawa ProSafe ESD Systems, Triconex ESD Systems and Drager Fire & Gas Detection systems is desirable
