TRS Staffing Solutions have a fantastic contract opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control and Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a range of skills and experience, see below for further details:
The opportunity
- The Instrumentation, Control and Electrical Engineer provides control designs, subject matter expertise and independent assurance in support of safe and reliable operations, growth projects and new technology development for the worldwide INEOS Acetyls business.
- The position offers the opportunity to work as part of an expert team of talented engineers and chemists, to travel internationally, and to make a material contribution to the generation of new value for the INEOS Acetyls business.

- You will support our manufacturing operations by providing design solutions for complex control problems including combustion, distillation and compressor control, engineering assurance, failure analysis, subject matter expertise, and field support. You will also conduct peer reviews and share best practice, proven control strategies and lessons learned between Acetyls assets.
- You will support our major projects by delivering engineering design packages for INEOS Acetyls proprietary technologies and providing technical assistance including HAZOP/LOPA participation, technical query responses, engineering and vendor assurance, training, and on-site commissioning/start-up expertise.
About you
- We are looking for a qualified process control engineer with a chemical, instrumentation, or electronic engineering background. You will have extensive experience of control schemes used in continuous manufacturing process plants preferably within a petrochemicals industry.
- Experience of design, commissioning, tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance of process control systems, including complex regulatory process control is essential. As is the ability to optimise manufacturing plants through an understanding of the process technology and application of process control strategy.
- Understanding of the key variables and constraints that impact safe and reliable operations is also key to this role.
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record of technical delivery and excellence, including an ability to build strong collaborative relationships across organisations and with third parties, vendors and engineering contractors.
- You will be a team player with experience of working in multidiscipline teams and proven interpersonal skills including the ability to influence without formal authority and work across different cultures. Project experience is an advantage.
You will also offer:
- Personal and process safety leadership
- Familiarity with instrumentation specification, selection, installation, and maintenance
- Understanding of functional safety lifecycle & safety instrumented systems
- Electrical engineering awareness including safety issues and protections and hazardous area classification
- Knowledge of relevant technical practices and industry standards
- Relevant qualifications preferred but not mandatory
