The role will see you provide operational support for OFTO assets on behalf of O&M during construction, commissioning, and O&M phases.
Experience
- Establish operational methodology of HVDC transmission assets and provide recommendations of requirements
- Gain extensive knowledge of the HVDC transmission assets
- Highlight critical assets and single points of failure and provide recommendations how to manage/ mitigate during operations
- Work in line with project management methodology
- Lead and participate in operations, outage and safety meetings
- Working with O&M team to ensure maintenance strategy and operational strategy are aligned.
Your Profile
- Experience in establishing operational strategies and suites of documentation for electrical transmission systems – HVDC Highly desirable
- Experience in LV and HV equipment including control and protection, HV switchgear, transformers, electrical system design, operation and maintenance and UK electrical grid markets.
- Experience of operation of large scale transmission assets
- Experience of Operational Engineering role
- Knowledge of HV Operational Safety Rules within wind industry application.
- Logical and analytical approach to problem solving
- Appreciation Grid code compliance requirements
- Fluent written and verbal English with good communication skills
- Good standard of IT literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
- Comfortable working travelling to UK sites and abroad if required.
- Strong continuous improvement qualities
- Must be self-motivated and driven to achieve objectives
Certifications
- BEng/ MEng degree in Engineering – HNC with sufficient experience will be considered.
- IOSH/NEBOSH Certified.
