Job Description:
- Performing piping material engineering activities & calculations including Pipe Material specifications.
- Preparation of Pipe wall thickness calculations.
- Branch reinforcement calculations.
- Preparation of technical specifications, inspection & test requirements for the procurement of piping bulk items and piping specialty items like strainers, steam traps, flame arrestors, Hose & Hose coupling etc.
- Preparation of material requisitions and purchase requisitions.
- Preparation of valves and specialty items datasheets.
- Technical bid evaluation of vendor's offer and preparation of technical queries.
- Optimization of material, the substitution of extra material, and controlling of piping material for smooth and efficient project execution.
- Vendors print review and resolving vendor queries in the minimum possible time.
- Co-ordination with various departments (engineering, procurement, supply chain, material control, and quality) to ensure timely resolution and escalation of issues through proper channels.
- Expediting of vendor package (if required by the project).
- Follow-up the vendor activities to ensure deliveries on time and with expected quality.
- Continuous improvement of execution and work processes and interfaces.
- Improvement of interfaces to other disciplines.
- Development of document templates and Engineering Guidelines.
- Support the Head of Department / Technical Lead Engineer on manhour and cost estimations for projects.
- Contribute to Business Development and R&D projects.
- Ensuring that working procedures and engineering execution standards are respected and enforced.
- Suggest cost savings to the Head of Department / Technical Lead Engineer.
- Promote a culture of trust, flexibility, collaboration, and creativity
- Degree in Mechanical / Materials Engineering.
- Industry knowledge with 5+ years of experience.
- Well-structured engineering/ science related mindset and thinking.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset and thinking.
- Highly open minded, experienced in working in international teams.
- High self-motivation, team spirit and assertiveness.
