Safety Representative

Our client, a major player in the energy and industrial industries, is seeking a temporary HSE Representative for a shutdown on a project in Castlegar, BC. This safety-conscious individual will provide guidance and support to employees, building on a pre-existing safety culture and prompting a continuous improvement of safety culture.

This is a fly-in fly-out opportunity, with a flight hub offered out of Calgary, AB. Our client is looking for both a day and night shift Safety Representative, offering 12-hour days, paid accommodation, and flights.

Job duties:
• Take part in the development and revision of Health and Safety programs; ensuring OH&S policies are complying with safe work practices.
• Audit performance and compliance in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Play an active part in conducting incident investigations.
• Conduct on-site investigations and audits in accordance with the client’s health and safety polices.

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of experience in the Heath and Safety field
• Highschool education is required; NCSO or CRSP designations are an asset.
• Understanding and experience with Root Cause Analysis is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills
