Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform underground equipment repairs, adhering to safety protocols.
- Inspect and diagnose faults in bulldozers, cranes, graders, and other heavy equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.
- Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of necessary repairs.
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on underground drills, scoops, haul trucks, and other underground machinery.
- Participate in site-specific training and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Certified Inter-provincial Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician.
- Experience in maintaining diesel and gasoline mobile and stationary equipment, preferably in an industrial or heavy industry setting.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher.
- Previous experience with underground mobile equipment maintenance.
- Certification in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs and maintain high performance levels over 12-hour shifts.
- Willing to work at a remote location on a rotational schedule.
